About Neopharm


The Neopharm Group manufactures, markets, sells, and distributes a wide range of prescription and over-the-counter drugs, consumer products, healthcare services, pharmaceutical preparations, home care, and medical equipment. The group operates centers in Israel, Europe, and the United States, establishing its global presence and responsible for marketing products in more than 60 countries.


Challenges


Before transitioning to Shopify, Neopharm managed separate websites with outdated infrastructure, leading to several operational challenges:


  • Separated Brands: Each site operated independently, requiring separate maintenance, updates, and unique integrations with third-party systems
  • User Experiences: Inconsistent user experiences across different sites.
  • Data Management: Separate data systems made analysis and logistics challenging.
  • Customer Service: Varying levels of customer service quality between brands.


Neopharm needed a holistic solution to serve all brands while preserving their unique identities. The goal was to create an infrastructure that supports online and offline activities, utilizing data to improve user experience and drive business outcomes.


Solutions

With this brief, Neopharm approached us, BOA Ideas, a Shopify ecommerce agency, seeking solutions to these challenges. We took on the challenge thanks to our extensive experience working on complex projects on the Shopify Plus platform. 


Here are some of the solutions we implemented in developing a comprehensive ecommerce system for Neopharm Group’s websites:


1. Operational Backend and Holistic Management:  

   We developed an operational and management back-office interface utilizing as many existing Shopify solutions as possible, allowing centralized control over various settings across all sites. This system enabled the digital department to manage brand-specific settings within the platform, balancing central oversight with brand customization. An example of the system’s use is managing and controlling inventory across all stores.


2. Interface Architecture:

   The unique system was designed according to the group’s needs, resembling metro lines where each line represents data flow from Shopify to multiple interfaces. Central hubs were created for Neopharm teams to process and manage data independently, improving operational management and in-house interface control.


3. Versatile Frontend:

   A front-end management system with customizable features was developed, allowing each brand to create a user experience that aligns with its goals and values. This system enabled the development of new features once, with seamless implementation across all sites, ensuring consistency and reducing development costs, thereby providing investment efficiency.


Results


The project, completed within just five months, involved the development of 9 websites, 4 hubs, and 7 systems, achieving significant results:


  • Brand Differentiation: The nine websites are built on a single template on one platform, each presenting unique brand identities.
  • Optimal User Experience: Over 20 unique features are available on each site.
  • Operational Efficiency: Reduced maintenance time and costs through a centralized management system.
  • Website Traffic: Page views increased by 1.7 times within a few months.
