About Jacobi
Jacobi is one of Israel’s most established and recognized companies in the fields of paints, home improvement, and household products. Founded in 1954, the company represents a wide range of international brands alongside its own private-label products.
Over the years, Jacobi has built a reputation based on quality, professionalism, and innovation, combining deep industry expertise with solutions designed for both DIY consumers and professional users.
Challenges
Alongside the need to migrate to a more modern and flexible commerce platform, one of the project's main challenges was operational.
Warehouse picking processes relied on manual workflows: each order was printed, and warehouse employees handled one order at a time. The process was slow, highly dependent on paperwork, and made it difficult to maintain an efficient and controlled workflow.
At the same time, there was a need to create a stronger connection between the brand's educational and DIY content and the digital shopping experience.
Solutions
* Full Migration from WordPress to Shopify
We carried out a complete migration of the website, products, content, and data to Shopify, while maintaining a user experience that reflects the brand's identity, values, and visual language.
* DIY Content Hub
We developed a dedicated content area that connects guides, DIY videos, and relevant products, allowing customers to move naturally from inspiration to purchase.
* Digital Warehouse Management System
Instead of a paper-based workflow, we developed a digital picking system that manages warehouse operations from end to end.
The system enables warehouse employees to process multiple orders simultaneously, based on the physical warehouse structure, while guiding them throughout the picking and packing process.
ֿ* Barcode-Based Operations
Barcode scanning and quality-control mechanisms were implemented throughout the process, including double and even triple verification checkpoints where needed, helping reduce errors and improve order accuracy.
* Hardware and Software Integration
The system was integrated with smart warehouse devices that indicate which products should be picked and where to assign them, streamlining operations and reducing human error.
Results
The transition to the new system fundamentally transformed warehouse operations.
- Transition from a manual, paper-based workflow to a fully digital process
- Ability to handle multiple orders simultaneously instead of one order at a time
- Significant improvement in picking and packing efficiency
- Reduced errors through barcode scanning and quality-control procedures
- Creation of an operational infrastructure that supports future eCommerce growth
Summary
Jacobi’s project demonstrates how moving to a new commerce platform can be much more than a website migration.
Alongside the transition to Shopify, a new logistics infrastructure was built to connect advanced ecommerce operations with day-to-day warehouse activities, streamline processes, and establish a foundation for future growth.
At the same time, a new website was launched that reflects the values that have defined Jacobi for decades—quality, professionalism, and innovation. The new shopping experience brings together content, professional knowledge, and commerce while maintaining a clean and precise visual language tailored to the brand.
The result is a complete ecosystem that serves customers on one end and business operations on the other, through a modern, efficient, and scalable commerce experience.
